Summertime is a great time of year to cleanse and detoxify your body so that you are feeling your best and healthiest. Summertime is a time when we are constantly on the go, and we definitely want all of the energy we can get.
In order to know how we can detoxify and cleanse our bodies, we need to know what a toxin is. We hear the word, toxic or toxin all of the time but do we really even know what it means?
What & Where Are The Toxins?
A toxin is any substance that creates irritating or harmful effects in the body. This can be in your water, it can be in your good, in the air and especially in cosmetics and everyday products that we come in contact with. Exposure to chemicals, pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, and molds will all have a negative effect on our bodies and can deteriorate our health. The list of toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis is quite long. There are pesticides, paint preservatives, formaldehyde. These are things that are found in and around our homes and often times we don’t think about the negative effect they are having on our health.
Many of the things that we consume are covered with chemicals and minerals that are not good for our bodies. The water that we drink can be full of pollutants and be full of heavy metals and different solvents, pesticides, and herbicides that leak from crops and get into the water system.
Be sure to check your water and make sure that it is not causing you any harm.
Another source of toxins is the GMOs that are covering the food we eat. The GMOs might prevent bugs, but they also cause a lot of other issues for our bodies. These chemicals are really taxing on our bodies and make it so that we are not able to perform like we should be able to.
Bottom line, we are exposed to a large number of chemicals every day no matter where we live, work, or socialize. They are all around us so there is a large need to cleanse and detoxify our bodies.
How Can We Prevent Toxins?
There are a few steps we can take in order to help you minimize the chemicals that enter into your body. When you are consuming foods, be aware of where the food is coming from. For example, fish can be very dangerous if it is coming from a farm or place where large quantities of fish are being produced for sale.
Fruits and vegetables are full of chemicals and pesticides. If you are about to consume fruits and vegetables, be sure to clean them very well and scrub them clean. Especially with strawberries, raspberries, and other porous fruits and vegetables–you will want to clean out the pores and make sure you are getting the chemicals out.
When you are cleaning around your home, be aware of the cleaning supplies that you are using so that you are not exposing your body to more chemicals. There are many cleaning supply lines that are out there that can still give you a clean home but will not expose you or your family to large amounts of chemicals.
In order to prevent your body from getting all of these chemicals inside your body, you need to make sure you are taking the proper precautions.
Detoxifying and cleansing are very similar. Detoxifying is when you are getting all of the toxins out of your body and cleanse is usually targeting a specific organ. But, either way, they are both ways that are used to get rid of the toxins from your body.
It is recommended that you detox about every six months to ensure your body is balanced and you are ridding your body of all the toxins and chemicals. When you are detoxifying, it’s good to take a comprehensive approach to it all but also make sure that your body is in a state to be able to handle the cleanse and detox.
