Functional medicine is personalized medicine that deals with the root cause of disease instead of just treating symptoms. In her spare time, Dr. Katie enjoys fitness, reading, and spending as much of her time as she can skiing and hiking.

Avery L

Avery Lemler

Health Advisor

Avery is a Health Advisor at East West Health. Her experience with alternative medicine began after she graduated from Colorado State University, where she started her career as a Patient Care Coordinator at a psychiatrist's office. While there, she noticed that patients were benefiting from alternative therapies much more consistently than with pharmaceuticals. That piqued her interest, so from there she became a Certified Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician, helping clients find relief from a wide range of chronic conditions. She became fascinated with functional and integrative medicine, and moved into a role managing a functional medicine clinic. Her knowledge in, and passion for, alternative treatments only grew from there, and she felt that the perfect next step was to be in a more patient-facing role. This led her to become a Certified Health Coach and Functional Nutrition Counselor.

She is so excited to continue this journey with East West Health, where she finds fulfillment each and every day by the connections with our patients. She believes that true health is multifaceted, and she is passionate about helping others find what health strategies work for them.

In her free time, she loves staying active by playing volleyball, strength training, hiking, and doing yoga. She enjoys being creative by coming up with new recipes and trying new things in the kitchen. When it's time to relax, she loves curling up on the couch with her cat and her partner, reading a good book or watching the latest shows on TV.
